Despite being a small country, the Netherlands is dominant in the onboard catering and services industry. We met a small selection at this year's WTCE to discover some new Dutch products.
De Kroes The 150 year-old bakery specialises in private label savoury and sweet snacks and started targeting airlines three years ago. The new ‘Delicious’ range, with boxes and bags of oven-baked biscuits are designed for complimentary service and buy-on- board respectively, and come in eight falvours including original cheese, cheese mustard and olive tomato.

FlyFit FlyFit’s food range combats the negative affects of flying. Its new ambient raspberry yoghurt with minerals and vitamins B, C and E has a six-month shelf life, no artificial preservatives or sweetners, is Halal certified, gluten-free and low fat. The 100g cup fits every size of snack box and has already been snapped up by Singapore Airlines, Eva Air and Garuda Indonesia.

Best Partner This company once saw a gap in the market for inflight pizzas and were one of the first to develop special heat resistant, ovenable packs with a tear-strip opening system, exclusively for inflight use. This year we tasted its new croque monsieur with smoked ham and béchamel sauce, available as a sandwich or 8-10 bites in a box.

Global C Global-C supplies tailor made inflight service products and solutions for airlines, ranging from cutlery to comfort items like blankets and pillows and always asks

– “how can we add value?” One of the items showcased this year was a newly- developed foam cup made from recycled PET bottles. A patented production process inserts precision air bubbles making it incredibly lightweight.

Limburg Gourmet The family-owned bakers have been in the airline business for many years and produce savoury snacks, deserts and cakes, single portioned in bespoke packaging. Limburg had a new range of savoury muffins in flavours like ham and chicken curry.

Qizini Group BV This first-time exhibitor has been in the
airline business 15 years, producing hot and cold sandwiches, baguettes, wraps and rolls, tapas and salads. At WTCE this year it launched its skyfood designers airline range, made according to the Qizini Design Engine, which means all products are designed with airline restrictions/demands in mind.

MiniBite by Hoppe Portion-packed biscuits and savoury snacks, Hoppe describes itself as ‘big in small packaging.' New products include cereal bars in hazelnut and summer fruits flavours, 20g packets of mini shortbreak cookies and mini oat choc chip cookies and a 45g soft-baked. double chocolate brownie cookie.
