WORLD TRAVEL CATERING EXPO 2014 Spotlight on WTCE 2014
It’s countdown to the world's largest business event dedicated to travel catering, passenger comfort and onboard retail.
The third World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) showcased an impressive range of new travel catering and onboard services as it opened its doors at the Hamburg Messe in Germany in April. Over 230 companies from 28 countries
were at the show and it was quickly abuzz with product launches and demonstrations. Once again the Onboard Hospitality
team was at the heart of WTCE, working exclusively in association with Reed Exhibitions to host the Taste of Travel Theatre and touring the stands to bring you a full product review (see pages 36-45) Exhibition manager, Archana Sharma,
said: "WTCE is now recognised as the key meeting place for the industry and attracted more than 60 new exhibitors this year. As the world's largest travel catering event it has its finger on the pulse of the industry’s needs and issues." Over 1,400 visitors attended.
Taste of Travel Theatre The theatre incorporated informed debate, culinary demos and some exciting, interactive challenges run alongside networking lunches and tastings. This year's programme was compiled by
the team at OnBoard Hospitality and Editor, Jo Austin, said: "Having an interactive element on the exhibition floor is vital when dealing with onboard services as it is such an emotive subject where everyone has their own opinion on taste, flavour and personal service. Couple this with the international visitor base that WTCE attracts and you have a recipe for success." New this year was the Onboard Hospitality
