Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2014

AVANT-GARDE APPROACH TO

SLOTS GAMING Merkur Gaming looks back on another successful ICE 2014 in which ‘Made in Germany’ quality was in high demand

Merkur Gaming presented its extensive product and service range at the international gaming exhibition ICE. From country-specific multigamers, through to SBG (server-based gaming), VLT (video lottery terminals) and jackpot solutions, right up to service offers in the technical field of money and arcade management – these ‘Made in Germany’ products all sent a convincing message to international visitors.

“The fact that we completely met the expectations of our customers through our innovative products, our company philosophy as well as the exhibition stand itself was demonstrated by the positive response as well as the excellent number of visitors on our stand,” summed up Thomas Niehenke, COO of the Gauselmann Group, after the three successful show days in London. “Our product portfolio is tuned to individual countries, the long-standing international experience as well as the outstanding quality play a prominent role in our international success”.

Merkur Gaming showed a whole world of innovations for 2014 under the motto ‘more than just a game’. A true highlight in the field of cabinets was this year the ‘Avantgarde SLT’. As the name indicates, the Avantgarde SLT cabinet stands for design and technology – just the right thing for innovative and modern arcades. Its futuristic and linear design with luminous LED elements attracts attention thanks to its style and class. A further highlight: the latest HD games have already been integrated into the Avantgarde SLT. However, the well-known cabinets such as the Privilege Plus, Visions Plus, WB4 and the Evolution SL are all also very popular due to their design. The Highflyer with its two screens is perfect just to relax in front of. Furthermore, the floating second screen enables a better view of the surroundings and scores with its corresponding seating position that it offers players. Those who wish to play in an undisturbed way will be particularly pleased with this product novelty: the gaming Space Ball. Within this shielded area, players can entirely enter into

this ‘made by Merkur’ gaming fun and in addition to this enjoy the surround-sound experience. Arcades that have limited space can make use of the Merkur Gaming Uno cabinet. Despite its tight measurements, the Uno offers unlimited gaming fun on its 22” TFT screen.

Merkur Gaming has brought a revolution in the sector of software solutions as well – namely the Merkur ALL-IN-ONE. This software for the server-based gaming segment allows complete networking of all business processes for slots, arcade and casino management, highlighting all functionalities of a business management system. Furthermore, the Merkur ALL-IN- ONE offers the possibility to initiate and control legal requirements for tax submissions via its public authorities management module. The software architecture of the MERKUR ALL-IN-ONE is developed to be scalable and modular and is presented with a user-friendly interface and a future-oriented navigation menu.

A further show highlight from Merkur Gaming was placed on the server-based gaming and video lottery terminals (VLTs). Merkur Gaming is one of the few global companies in the industry to already be successfully operating VLT and SBG solutions and so can make full use of its extensive knowledge base. VLTs are complex gaming systems for which – alongside the obligatory games and cabinet

variety – complex security requirements for information flow have to be fulfilled. They are continually connected to a central server and are operated under the direct online control of the finance ministry.

The company was able to underline its pole position as well in Europe in the field of cash management. The answer to simple and safe cash management is the Merkur Dispenser 100. The Merkur Dispenser 100 enables operators to optimise their machine cashflow. The further development of the Merkur Dispenser 100 has resulted in the Merkur Dispenser Gold and the Merkur Dispenser 100 Plus Gold. The improvements refer to components such as a new and more efficient CPU, more storage capacity and more resistant components to guarantee a longer working life and minimise problems caused by dirt. In addition to this, further light barriers offer more security. The Merkur Dispenser 100 Plus Gold can accept international currencies and can also accept tickets for the ticket-in, ticket-out feature.

Merkur Gaming – responsible for the sales of AWPs and casino slots – was joined on the 800sq.m. stand by two further Gauselmann Group subsidiaries: Blueprint Gaming, a leading provider of video gaming content in the British market, and GeWeTe as manufacturer of change machines. Another subsidiary, edict egaming, the specialist for online gaming platforms, exhibited on its own stand in London.
