Review ICE TOTALLY GAMING 2014

VNE's Valentina Santarelli demonstrating the new Bill Breaker at ICE 2014.

BREAKING NEW SPREADING THE MAGIC AROUND

Cutting edge technology, state-of-the- art construction and the best gaming content defined the APEX ICE display

The APEX gaming stand at the ICE show revealed a company that has grown from multi- game slots specialist into a turn-key supplier for the casino sector, encompassing the widest range ever range of high quality specialised ‘Made in Austria’ gaming equipment.

Front and centre on the APEX gaming stand at ICE was the new APEX Player Station, a brand new multi-player from the Austrian manufac- turer that blends its unique Quikker game into a full roulette, baccarat and sic-bo offering with exquisite design and construction. Created to open new markets to APEX's patented Quikker game (a mix between black jack and roulette), the APEX Player Station has been developed in- house to be both modular, with a range of termi- nal configurations, and flexible with its mix of four available games to suit all player tastes.

One of the few companies in the world to offer an alternative shuffling product, APEX gaming's Shuffle King is enjoying its second iteration, having reduced its shuffling time by 40 percent, completing a single deck shuffle in 35 seconds flat. The Shuffle King II shuffles in two cycles and working two separate decks of cards is able to reduce the shuffle time to zero. Speaking to APEX's Eric Walluschnig at ICE, he explained that the device is currently installed in casinos across Europe from Germany, Italy, Romania, Austria and Latvia.

Another intriguing new product on the APEX stand was the new iDROP, a secure and automat-

ed system for verifying and storing bank notes at the live gaming table. Built into the table itself, the iDROP accepts bundles of notes at the table and utilises MEI note acceptor technology to verify at the table and securely store each bill. The iDROP can also be linked via SAS to an existing casino management system to update the casino as to the status of the table float in real-time. The system can also accept croupier tips and can dispense TITO tickets to players looking to cash-out at the table.

In addition to the latest model in the hugely suc- cessful Multi-Magic slots series, number six, APEX gaming showed its new tablet gaming solution, enabling players to roam the casino playing their favourite APEX slot from whatever location they desire. The APEX Mobile Slots server-based solution currently supports 15 APEX games, including hit titles such as Leonardo's Code, Arriva, Ocean Tale and Red Hot Fruits, with Multi-Magic Six expected to join the roster very soon.

Players can load the tablet with credit using RFID tagging at the cash desk, enabling the play- er to switch between slot games and tablet games utilising a simple TITO integrated solution. All the games are played directly from the server, with a second back-up server providing a fail- safe, which means that the tablet is purely showing animations and is transmitting the player's inputs back to the server where the game is actually being played.

It's another hugely accomplished gaming solu- tion and one that shows the breadth of APEX gaming's talents incorporating cutting edge tech- nology, state-of-the-art construction and the very best gaming content.

GROUND & BILLS Unrivalled in its domestic market in Italy, VNE brought its raft of change machine solutions to the international ICE show

Italy’s change machine specialist, VNE, showed its extensive model range at the ICE show in London, while unveiling a brand new Bill Breaker and demon- strating the company’s newly re-designed website.

The Maxi-Changer with in-built monitor continues to prove a hit with both operators and visitors to the ICE show, thanks to its combination of style and security. The ability to use the screen as a juke-box or adver- tising messenger means that the Maxi-Changer is a product that’s both functional and multi-tasking, taking the change machine from the corners of the arcade and making it a centrepiece for player inter- action. Online connectivity means that international clients are supported via two-way communication with the change machine, providing accounting details, re-fills and any maintenance issues. The Maxi-Changer even includes GPS tracking, giving exact details of its location should an attempt to steal the machine occur.

The location, accounting, re-fills and maintenance of every VNE machine can be tracked, located and observed remotely via the company’s newly relaunched website, which presents a slick, simple to follow and secure website for operators to complete- ly manage their change machine estate.

The latest launch at ICE from VNE was the Bill Breaker, able to break larger denominations into smaller bills in a compact, value for money product. It’s a changer for both arcades and casinos and is both internally very secure, using the latest JCM note validation, and externally impregnable without los- ing its Italian design flare.
