Ivan joined Cathay Pacific in 1984 and has worked with the company in Hong Kong, China,

Taiwan, Thailand and Australia. He is also Chairman of AHK Air Hong Kong Ltd. Ivan holds a Masters degree in Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia and a Bachelors degree in Social Science from the University of Hong Kong.

Franz Josef Firschfink HAMBURG AVIATION To: Managing director From: Lufthansa Technik

Franz Josef will take over from Walter Birkhan, who is retiring from next year. Bernhard

Conrad, president of Hamburg Aviation, said: He is a proven aviation expert with a profound understanding of the industry. With a doctorate in physics, Franz Josef has held many positions in materials management and logistics at Lufthansa, took on the reorganisation of Lufthansa Technik’s engine overhaul services and spent three years as COO at Alitalia Maintenance Systems.

Since 2009, he has been director of technology projects at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg.


To: Manager catering services From: General Manager, Oman Air Catering Aaron is responsible for the design, development and business planning of Cathay’s in-flight

catering. Chef-trained in England, he joined the Royal Naval Training Academy in 1984 and served as a chef onboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. Later he was head chef at Oman Aviation Services and executive chef at the London Clinic, Harley Street. Aaron owned a fine dining restaurant in London and provided catering services to Formula 1 teams. Since then he has moved back to aviation, working for Oman Air and Gulf Air’s in-flight catering division.

Denmark’s focus on developing its staff and achieving growth via new business.
