right Care, one of the most innovative new entrants into the domiciliary care sector in Scotland, is launching a franchise drive with the eventual


aim of becoming one of the biggest enterprises of its kind in the UK. A pilot franchise in Glasgow has now


been successfully established and is already contributing substantially to Edinburgh-based Bright Care, run by entrepreneur Tim Cocking. The company, which began trading in October 2010 and employs 70 people, recorded turnover of £1million in the year to 31 August 2013. The aim is to establish franchise


footholds in Scotland’s major centres of population before branching out into the rest of the UK. Tim, who was Scottish Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the

important early adopters, Bright Care is offering the first two franchisees a package which is actually priced below cost – £11,000+vat, instead of the standard price of £19,000+vat. Franchisees will be supported by a comprehensive package, including a full start-up programme with marketing support and integrated bespoke software systems. To help build the business, there will be particular support with regard to regulation, since one of the barriers to entry is negotiation of registration with the Care Inspectorate and the Care Quality Commission (for England). n
