New thermal printer showcased at Railtex
Cable management specialists HellermannTyton will be unveiling the new TT430 thermal printer at this year’s Railtex exhibition, explains Kevin Bunfi eld, mass transit specialist at the company.
L
ocated on Stand B52, HellermannTyton will be showcasing the entry level printer
alongside a range of high specifi cation cable management products, designed specifi cally for use in rail applications.
The TT430 printer is the latest addition to HellermannTyton’s innovative Thermal Identifi cation Printing System (TIPS) range, and is a cost-effective solution for low volume users. Rather than using ink,
the TT430
printer uses thermal printing to mark Tiptags (cable tied markers),
heatshrink sleeving,
non-heatshrink sleeving and labels with alpha numerical data, barcodes or logos.
With a 20-year service life, the TIPS cable identifi cation system is particularly suitable for new build trains and signalling applications, and is also LUL approved. Additional TIPS printers will be on stand at Railtex for visitors interested in larger volume applications too.
HellermannTyton manufactures a range of consumables for TIPS printing, including Network Rail approved Tiptags, and the recently launched ladder-style zero halogen heatshrink markers. These innovative markers are pre-cut and formatted into a convenient ladder system, which allows for printing on
As well as cable management and identifi cation, HellermannTyton’s stand will feature cable protection products, such as the Helaguard range of metallic and non-metallic conduits and fi ttings. Helaguard has been designed to protect cables from oils, dirt, dust, moisture and rodent damage.
both sides of the marker.
Achilles Link-up supplier HellermannTyton is a world leader in the manufacture of cable ties, and visitors to its Railtex stand will be able to browse a vast range of products, including outside serrated cable ties that do not cause damage to the cable bundle when subject to vibration, LUL approved metal ball ties, and high-spec cable ties made from limited fi re hazard (LFH) or halogen free materials (VO rated).
When it comes to specifying cable management products for the rail industry, it’s the details that can make all the difference.
From high specifi cation cable ties to durable identifi cation solutions, by choosing the right products fi rst time, you can not only increase the reliability and longevity of an electrical installation, but you can also better protect passengers, staff and assets.
Visit HellermannTyton at Railtex for an informal chat about our solutions for the rail industry, for a hands-on demonstration of our products or to pick up a copy of our brochure. The stand will also be showcasing a selection of other fl agship products created for the rail industry, including Network Rail approved enclosures – for infrastructure and signalling use – and also the M-BOSS stainless steel tag, suitable for cable identifi cation in overground applications.
