Interactive innovation for modern day rail stations

ith the Railtex 2013 exhibition quickly approaching, Commend UK is eager to showcase its latest rail solutions at the show. With this in mind, Commend UK will use the show to unveil the new Interactive SR1202 Information and Emergency Help Point.
This will show that Commend UK provides the latest technologies, in a completely redesigned and updated help point housing for the rail market.
It is fully IP enabled, allowing remote maintenance access and,
with a 6mm
toughened glass front panel, this unit has been designed to fulfi l the future requirements of all train operators and end users.
Consisting of a 15” touch screen for the display of the train operator’s mobile website, this will give passengers more information, such as live departures, delays and journey planning to aid their journey and provide more ‘self fi nd information’ for passengers.
It has up to two fully programmable buttons (‘Emergency’ and ‘Information’ have been used for this example).
These, along with the dedicated Commend electronics within, allow calls to be routed through to the station control room or any control centre should the passenger require
Commend Digital Counter Intercom Systems satisfy these requirements completely. Thanks to digital signal processor control, naturally sounding speech and full comprehension are guaranteed under all conditions regardless of background noise.
The modular construction of the system allows any number of desktop counter intercom systems to be combined into one unit.
The basic unit is a Digital Intercom Station, which is available in two different versions (with or without goose neck microphone).
The system is easy and quick to install and provides simple operation: speak and listen simultaneously in both directions, separate volume controls for outside and inside zones,
An in-built IP camera can also be included if required. This will give the option of one or even two-way video between the user and station staff in the control room.
