Sportswear focus for new microsite
www.fruitoftheloom.eu/sports/en/ F
ruit of the Loom has launched an ʻaction-packedʼ new sportswear microsite – The Winning Formula
(
www.fruitoftheloom.eu/sports/en/). The site presents a collection of styles suitable for sports events and promotions, along with marketing advice and resources, including a downloadable sports Design Pack containing original, unprotected (non-copyright) sporting imagery.
The Winning Formula microsite uses advanced scrolling technology, which adds a fun, ʻanimatedʼ, interactive quality to any visit.
At the top of each page are six categories: Promotion, Event Staff, Products, Designs, Marketing Support and FAQ (Frequently Asked questions). Clicking on any of the first three, products-focused, categories brings up a page with an image of a representative garment, which remains constant. When you scroll down the page, the background colour and graphic (based on sports pitch markings) changes, along with the key messages and foreground elements. Jo Lewis, marketing manager, says: “The new microsite contains some serious messages about the sales benefits of supplying Fruit of the Loom garments, but it also conveys the fun, excitement and enjoyment associated with sport. Itʼs
guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.” The Products page presents a scrollable list of 62 countries, plus the colours associated with that nationʼs sports team and all the Fruit of the Loom garments that are available in those colours. The Designs page offers a simple, one-click download of the aforementioned Design Pack, plus the opportunity to ʻpass the baton…ʼ (share the site with a friend or colleague), which automatically unlocks further free designs for downloading. The Marketing Support page includes the option to join the Fruit Club and access its wealth of free online marketing support, presents details of the Fruit Code (the companyʼs code of conduct), and allows you to upload your own logos and designs to create virtual sportswear samples. The FAQ page provides some valuable pointers on the use of protected marks associated with major sporting events. “The global audience for international sports is massive and this summer, in particular, will see a number of high profile sporting competitions hosted by countries throughout Europe. The Winning Formula microsite seeks to both inspire and support Fruit of the Loom customers who are looking to ʻstand out from the crowdʼ and make the most of the valuable sales opportunities created by these exciting events,” says Joanne Lewis.
