New styles and a web shop

By now, virtually everybody in the UK printwear market will have heard the name FDM. Since the brand’s launch in February, FDM is fast becoming a popular addition to the printwear and promotional sector.

F

rom its inception, the aim of Fundamental Apparel (the company behind FDM) was to listen to customer feedback and use that to dictate their future direction. The five products in their initial offering have proved to be a tribute to this, as their popularity is certainly growing and the reaction is showing that the quality of the garment and competitive prices are certainly what the market wants. And FDM seem to be fulfilling all the promises they made back in February as consistent colour palette, reliable size references, good availability and distribution are all now apparent as the brand develops.

And all this is backed up by their in- house production at Lucky Knits in Pakistan (part of the Yunus Brothers Group – a huge, diverse manufacturing corporation). This allows for all FDM products to be manufactured under one roof, incorporating the entire production process right from the spinning of the yarn, through knitting, dyeing, stitching and finishing.

The obvious advantage here is that the complete process is under their own control meaning that there can be total consistency across all garments. This also allows FDM the opportunity

to offer a truly bespoke service to customers who have their own special requirements looking for the same high quality that they can find in any FDM product. And with WRAP, Oeko-Tex and Rina certifications comes satisfaction

that all products are ethically produced. In order to deliver this impressive package to the market, FDM have now expanded their team by welcoming two sales managers.

Graham Burgess has joined as national sales manager and will cover the southern region. He is a well known name in the industry with an impressive 22 yearsʼ experience. Covering the north is Keith OʼBrien as northern sales manager and again, he is no stranger to the printwear and promotion market having a significant number of years working for major UK suppliers.

An experienced team

In addition, FDM has been joined by Emma Barker as customer service manager based out of the Manchester head office, and with nine yearsʼ experience at the popular fashion brand, Henri Lloyd Ltd, she completes the team set to take FDM forward. Obviously with such a strong start, FDMʼs challenge now is to move into the second phase of their two-stage launch strategy. To build on the success of the existing products in their range, they are extending the colour palette offered on their FH004 Junior Hoodie to match that of the FH001 Original Hoodie. This means that their unisex offering now has a complete size run from 3-4yrs all the way through to XXL (and XXXL in the case of black, navy and heather grey).

Additionally, the colour “bubblegum” has been added to both the FH001 Original Hoodie and the FH004 Junior Hoodie taking the total count to 21 fantastic colours.

On top of this, September will see the launch of their new Varsity Jacket and Junior Varsity Jacket. These will follow on from the success of their hoodies and will use the same 300gsm, 80/20 cotton rich fabric which makes it ideal for embellishment.

Both the adult and the junior version will be offered in the same 10 colour combinations and as these will also be produced in-house at Lucky Knits, the colour consistency extends throughout the entire FDM range. This obviously gives reassurance that any corporate customer can order right across a range of products and still have that peace of mind that the colours will all match. And if that wasnʼt enough to keep FDM busy, they have recently introduced their fantastic online ordering system at www.fdmcorporate.com. By registering on the website, customers will not only be able to place their orders online, but they will also be able to see “Real-Time” stock availability giving peace of mind that when you place an order with them you already know the stock is there. And even after all this, thereʼs no let up for FDM as they are already planning and designing further additions to the range to be launched in time for 2013.
