Supplier profile RUSSELL

He wears, she wears, EVERYONE wears Russell

Russell is the brand of choice for companies who recognise the value of a consistently well-presented team. As one of the leading European printwear brands, we’ve built our business on providing team uniform solutions that tick all the boxes for choice, quality and value.

O

riginally known for our leisurewear – it was Benjamin Russell who manufactured the very first sweatshirt – Russell now also plays a lead role in the corporatewear, workwear and schoolwear sectors with its comprehensive range of tees, polos, sweats, fleece, shirts and tops, knitwear, jackets and trousers.

Design

Our Design & Development team in Scotland keeps a close watch on retail trends, identifying new products that will offer opportunities for imprint with special consideration of their decoration potential. We also draw inspiration from our customers and visitors to our exhibition stands across Europe. Alan Dibble, our Head of D&D, and his team readily acknowledge the importance of listening to resellers and hearing their views on what is working well, what isnʼt, what needs tweaking and their views on what their customers may be looking for in the future.

Ensuring the right fits and features is key but, as mentioned, garments must be made with decoration in mind and thatʼs why with Russell you will find fabrics that are particularly decoration friendly with practical access points on more challenging garment categories, eg: jackets and blazers. Our design teamʼs commitment to innovation can best be demonstrated via our corporatewear and softshell ranges.

Corporatewear

Russell Collection, the brandʼs corporate range of shirts, knitwear and corporate tops, has set the standards in innovation, quality and versatility since its launch in 2004. Now offering a total of 46 shirts, four knitwear styles and four corporate tops the range meets the needs of companies looking for a smart, practical, quality uniform.

The Russell Collection shirt range has continued to introduce new fabrics, features and fits and the all-important finishing touches that single out a Russell Collection shirt. Our fabrics are developed to perform in all manner of working environments: if itʼs tough and durable you need, our hard- wearing poly-cotton poplin shirts are perfect; our Oxford shirts are consistently one of our top-selling styles, which should tell you weʼre doing something right; at the forefront of shirt technology is our Ultimate Non-Iron – when youʼre pressed for time, this premium fabric delivers – 100% cotton, yet with all the non-iron properties of a blend, it has the luxurious feel of a premium retail

product; and Tencel is a major step forward in clothing technology, an intelligent fabric, available to decorate – it remains an industry first within the corporate clothing sector, offering built- in performance benefits to help you stay cool throughout the day. Our shirts come in Classic, Tailored and Fitted styles and as of 2012 we have gone one step further by offering two fits in our best selling Oxford and PolyCotton shirts – reflecting the demand from businesses who increasingly need to supply uniform for a wider variety of wearer shapes and sizes. Our Menʼs Oxford and PolyCotton Poplin shirts are available not only in the original Classic fit but also in a Tailored fit. Similarly our ladiesʼ PolyCotton Poplin shirts are now available in both Classic and Fitted fits.

Softshell Jackets Russellʼs 140/141M&F SoftShell jackets and gilets range launched in 2007 was one of the first softshell ranges to the market and has set the standard, scoring highly on weather resistance, features, looks and decoration. Our range has inspired many other companies to launch their own softshell jackets but there is little doubt that the 140/141 raise the bar. Such was the success of this first range, which continues to be a best seller today, that we introduced a menʼs and ladiesʼ SportShell in 2009 and a Workwear SoftShell in 2011, both styles matching the quality and high specification of the 140/141 and proving to be worthy additions to the range.

Ethical Manufacturing

Our products are made to perform as well as look good, wear after wear, wash after wash, maximising their lifetime value. But this doesnʼt come at the expense of the environment. Weʼre committed to ensuring all our garments are made to the highest standards.

Our entire range conforms to Okeo-Tex 100 standards, ensuring that no illegal substances or chemicals known to be harmful are used in the production process. And all of our production facilities are independently inspected by the Worldwide Responsible Accreditation Production (WRAP) program, to ensure that they adhere to international workplace standards, local laws and workplace regulations.
