t seems such a short time since the Resolute team sat around the conference table last summer to discuss projects and the coming year. This year we are spread across the globe and working on those projects that will bring the next generation printers to the market and take the technology of direct to garment into the very tasty food industry with the launch of our range of direct to food printers. In February, we launched our portable R-Jet Midi CMYK T shirt printer with a price tag that could not be matched by any other UK supplier. This machine is built from the ground up using our unique patented transport system. It not only offers affordable textile printing it makes lucrative on-demand printing at events both simple and affordable. The Midi can be run using Resolute inkʼs own disposable cartridges or is supplied with a continuous ink feed system for maximum cost and efficiency. April saw the launch of the R-Heat 440F, a revolutionary tunnel dryer configured for digital textile ink, offering efficiency and speed for multiple machine users. The R-Heat 440F increases durability in the wash and will cure a dark shirt every 45 seconds and a CMYK printed shirt in only 20 seconds. As we write, our R-Jet Midi+ is undergoing rigorous print testing at our DTG Training Centre in Chesterfield and in the field with our beta testers. This unique printer produces a dark print in only one pass, laying down the white ink in front of the colours. It is set to break the price bracket on dark garment printing at the 310mm x 500mm size range, with an estimated price tag of £7,900 including software.

ith all these projects coming to market in 2012 it is clear to see we work very hard on research
capacity. This method is proven to out- perform more costly larger machines, both in prints per £ and reliability. Letʼs use a Resolute DTG 4 unit modular system costing around £35k and capable of printing approximately 150 to 200 shirts per hour. If one of the units needs attention the remaining units carry on printing, keeping production moving. This is not possible when utilising one print head moving across multiple garments.
Our software runs up to four units from one rip station; each unit can be printing individual designs or all the same design for longer runs. But thatʼs not all. Why have white ink in a printer when it can perform three times as fast when configured with two sets of CMYK?
he R-Jet 4 is one of the only A2 print units that can be switched from CMYK + White back to CMYK x 2 in less than an hour. This means a system can be configured with one unit used for light shirts whilst the others handle dark prints keeping production to an absolute maximum. We havenʼt found another system that can match this set-up for speed let alone the cost.

From August 2012, Resolute Ink, consumables and printers are available to buy through the UKʼs largest apparel supplier, Ralawise. Demonstrations of the printers are available in the Ralawise Business Centre at their Deeside premises.
