arrel bags are ʻinʼ right now, according to BagBase, which has responded by launching the new BG150 Packaway Barrel Bag. The BG150 offers a 32-litre capacity, yet it can be folded down to a surprisingly compact size, making it easy to stow away.
The bag is made from lightweight, water-repellent 210D polyester and has a modern appearance with clean, uncluttered lines. Robust webbing carry handles run around the circumference of the bag for maximum stability and load bearing capacity when carrying heavy loads, and also provide a strong point of visual interest, while the main zip closure is finished with a branded zip puller. The BG150ʼs standout feature, however, is its zippered internal pocket. Handy for organising the contents of the bag (for example, it can be used to store valuables, passports or other possessions that require quick and easy access), the pocket also may be detached and used as a separate packaway pouch. This has many practical benefits – for instance, items of hand luggage could be carried in the pouch when travelling (simply detach the pocket/pouch before the main bag is checked-in at an airport or placed in a train or coachʼs luggage area).
“The zippered internal pocket has an additional benefit in that it provides a secondary decoration area,” BagBaseʼs Catherine Hardy explains. “Decorators can increase their revenues by embellishing both the main bag and the pocket, and simultaneously ensure that their customerʼs branding is always visible, thus maximising the number of impressions. Both areas are very easy to print,” she adds. The BG150 is offered in six colours, including corporate/ promotional stalwarts – black, bright royal and classic red – and fashionable brights – fuchsia, lime green and white. For customers who require a larger capacity holdall and who are willing to sacrifice the ʻpackabilityʼ of the BG150, BagBase offers the BG22 Classic Holdall (48-litres), BG572 Teamwear Holdall (54-litres), and BG23 Classic Wheelie Holdall (105- litres).
