July, 2012 Bomar Intros E-Snap Edgeboard RF Connectors

Ledgewood, NJ — Bomar Inter connect Products, Inc. has expanded its propri- etary E-Snap™ Series of edgeboard RF connectors to include the vertical or horizontal mount BNC E-Snap. Developed for use with PCMICA cards in wireless applications, the BNC E- Snap connectors are the latest addi- tion to the 50-ohm E-Snap Series, which is comprised of SMA, SMB, SMC, MCX and low-profile MCX LP edgeboard RF connectors. The miniature, lightweight con-

nectors’ unusual construction pro- motes exceptional board retention and RF performance without the use of adhesives. Parts are engineered with small protrusions within their slots to allow devices to “snap” firmly into solder-pasted holes as they are slid onto the PC board. This ability to

lock securely in place for re-flow sol- dering significantly minimizes strain on the solder joint to provide the industry’s most durable mount to the PC board. In specifying the new

BNC E-Snap, designers are able to maximize throughput and cost efficiencies by elimi- nating the time and expense associated with applying an adhesive, while being afford- ed excellent flexibility because of the part’s ability to be mounted vertically or hori- zontally. This newest BNC coax

connector is intended for use in a wide variety of wireless applications. It is well suited for dense packaging arrange-

ments where mechanical strength, high durability, high reliability and low VSWR are required. Devices

accommodate a large variety of RG and industry standard cables. The E-Snap Series meets or

exceeds all industry mechanical, electrical and environmental stan- dards, and provides a straight- through contact design. To further ensure the utmost in reliability, con- nectors have gold-plated contacts. The 50W series provides repeat-

able performance to 18GHz stan- dard, while high-frequency versions may be ordered with repeatable per- formance to 20GHz. Parts are sup- plied in male or female versions, and offered in a range of standard- and

custom-plating alternatives. Contact: Bomar Interconnect

Power Switch Southampton, PA — CW Industries has introduced a new double pole, 3- position switch that sequentially makes or breaks electrical contacts in alternate poles. This feature can be combined with appropriate momentary or detent action in alter- nate positions. Rated at 3 amps, 125VAC, the CW GC-509 switch is UL recognized and is an OFF-ON- (ON) construction. product has one pole that maintains contact in 2 positions and the other pole that acts as a power disconnect switch. The complete function description and logic table is avail- able on the company’s website. The GC-509 mounts into a

panel opening of 0.756 X 0.508-in. (19 x 13mm) requiring no mounting hardware. The actuator and housing are made of UL94V-0 polyester and available in a wide range of color options, imprinting, terminal type and polarizing for switch mounting orientation. The switch supplies power to a

primary load with the capability of supplying momentary power to sec- ondary loads in applications such as fluorescent lighting, ice makers, white goods, personal grooming, industrial

controls, floor care and others. Contact: CW Industries, 130
