Both systems are designed to meet various standards and protocols for high-speed perform- ance in telecommunication, data communication and storage area net- work applications. Cable Assembly (QSFPO Series) meets QSFP MSA form-factor speci- fications and is included in the InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) Integrators’ List as being tested and accepted by IBTA with compliance to InfiniBand architecture. The light- weight cable assembly uses a small 3mm diameter optical cable for increased airflow in a rack and a tighter bend radius with cable lengths up to 100 meters. The optical engine embedded


inside the cable connector converts electrical signal to optical with four channels (8 pairs) transmitting an aggregate bandwidth of up to 56Gbps. The company’s unusual fiber termina- tion method allows for custom lengths, breakout cables with stan- dard fiber connectors and best-in- class lead times. In addition, the cable assembly supports Ethernet protocols and requires a low power consump- tion of 750mW. This is less than half the power requirements of cables offered from competitors.
