Nashua, NH — The MLX92221 and MLX92241 Hall Effect sensors from Melexis are designed to deliver the high levels of performance and robust- ness needed for the stringent automotive require- ments of applications such as seat positioning sys- tems, seat adjusters, seat-belt buckle switches, wipers and motor commutation systems. These de- vices are equipped with an EEPROM memory, al- lowing the setting of customer-specific parameters for magnetic switch points, output polarity, IOFF current and magnet material temperature com- pensation coefficient. The user’s ability to specify tailored characteristics enable improvements to their sensor module yields, bill-of-materials (BOM) costs and performance capabilities. With a wide programmable magnetic range, the MLX92221 and MLX92241 both use Hall Effect sensing ele- ments operating voltage levels from 2.7 to 24V, ad- dressing automotive, consumer and industrial ap- plications. vices has been re-engineered with a special focus on the offset cancellation system, allowing faster and more accurate processing that is unaffected by temperature. A programmable negative tempera- ture coefficient is implemented to compensate for the natural behavior of permanent magnets to be- come weaker at elevated temperatures. The MLX92221 and MLX92241 are delivered
in RoHS compliant single-in-line (SIL) packages for through-hole mounting, or in 3-pin thin SOT
