Farmington Manor assisted living facility and held a lunch for 11 veterans living there.


Cedar Grove, NJ, Lodge members, accompanied by a beauty pageant winner, visited 65 veterans in their rooms at the Lyons VA medical facility. Lodge members gave the veterans decorated Christmas trees for display in their rooms, and the pageant winner signed autographs for them. The lodge donated another 15 trees to the facility to be displayed in public places.


Florida Keys, FL, Lodge hosted a dinner for a group of 17 veterans and volunteers taking part in a Team River Runner trip to the Florida Keys. Team River Runner provides kayaking instruction and activities


for wounded veterans recovering from their veterans John Vann, James Edwards, and Janet Evans.


donated $300 worth of clothing and toiletries to the home to be given to veterans living there.


Escanaba, MI, Lodge members visited the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, held bingo games for 11 veterans, and served snacks to the veterans.


Muskegon, MI, Lodge donated $4,800 to the Muskegon County Department of Veterans Affairs to provide emer- gency assistance to local veterans and their families.


Greenville, MS, Lodge members attended the funeral of US Marine Corps LCpl Edward J. Dycus. Lance Corporal Dycus was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, II Marine Expeditionary Force when he died in Afghanistan on February 1. On the day of the funeral, Lance Corporal Dycus’ body was escorted to the site of the funeral service and then to the cemetery by the Patriot Guard Riders, a group of volunteer motorcycle riders who provide escort duties at the funerals of slain US troops. Several lodge members accompanied the Patriot Guard Riders during the funeral procession. The lodge also held dinners for five Patriot Guard Riders two days before the funeral and for 11 riders on the night of the funeral.

De Soto, MO, Lodge members placed 120 yellow ribbons along the main street of the town of De Soto to honor the service of US military personnel and veterans.


Farmington, MO, Lodge held a luncheon for 12 veterans at the Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center. Lodge members also visited the

Clayton, NJ, Lodge held a Dinner for 17 veterans from the Veterans Memorial Home–Vineland. Following the dinner, the lodge hosted a patriotic ceremony that featured presentations by the local US Marine Corps League Color Guard and scouts from Boy Scout Troop No. 292.


Deming, NM, Lodge donated $400 to the New Mexico Veterans Home to support the home’s Bingo Program.


Bedford, VA, Lodge donated several thousand dollars’ worth of clothing to the Salem VA Medical Center. The clothing was donated by a lodge member who was closing his men’s clothing store. ■


Florissant, MO, Lodge members and ladies auxiliary members visited the Missouri Veterans Home–St. Louis and held a Christmas Party for the 300 veterans who live there. The party featured snacks, beverages, and a performance by the Gateway City Big Band. Lodge members and ladies auxiliary members also gave handmade afghan blankets to 98 veterans and sweatshirts to all 300 veterans.
