Westminster, MD, Lodge held a Thank You Reception for the donors to the previous year’s Fletcher-Falcone Charity Golf Outing. The outing is an annual event that raised $23,000 for college scholarships and charities in 2011. The lodge also recognized the scholarship recipients and representatives of the charities that were supported by the outing. Sidney, NY, Lodge members distrib- uted dictionaries to 50 third-grade students at Afton Elementary School.
Vestal, NY, Lodge held a Welcome Home Dinner for six soldiers return- ing from service overseas and their families.
Cedar Grove, NJ, Lodge members volunteered to assist the Verona Rescue Squad with their annual Breakfast fund-raiser. Lodge members helped serve more than 1,000 people and raise more than $2,400 for the rescue squad. In other news, lodge members honored the winners of their Americanism Essay Contest in a ceremony at the lodge. Lodge members judged more than 300 essays submitted by fifth- through eighth-grade students and chose the top three essays in both the fifth- and sixth-grade division and the seventh- and eighth-grade division. The winners in each division received a plaque and a monetary award. The winners of the fifth- and sixth-grade division were Memorial Middle School students Natalie Booth (first), Anthony Clarizio (second) and Maria Nawar (third). The winners of the seventh- and eighth-grade division were St. Catherine of Siena School student Gabrielle Ramos (first) and Memorial Middle School students Emma Wurch (second) and Deanna DeCorte (third).
In more news, the lodge held its 25th annual Coffee House fund-raiser and raised $1,300 for Mount St. Joseph’s Children’s Center. The event featured performances by 13 musicians and was attended by 40 people. The Mount St. Joseph’s Children’s Center is a home for emotionally disturbed boys ages 6 to 14.

Webster-Fairport, NY, Lodge held its 42nd annual First Responders Recognition Dinner. More than 280 people attended the dinner, at which three police officers, 16 firefighters, and seven emergency medical services personnel were honored. Each honoree received a plaque except for six firefighters from the West Webster Fire District who were jointly honored and presented with a single plaque.
