Englewood, FL, Lodge donated nearly $500 to the Englewood Area Youth Baseball Association. The donations included nearly $400 to sponsor a team and $100 to help sponsor the baseball field. The lodge also donated $125 to Glen Allen Elementary School and $100 to the Salvation Army.
Florida Keys, FL, Lodge held a Dinner and Sock Hop fund-raiser and raised $2,000 for the lodge’s scholarship fund. The lodge was assisted at the event by several Coral Shores High School students.
Pasadena, CA, Lodge provided $1,000 grants to three organizations. The grants were awarded to Financial First, which teaches foster children to manage their personal finances; Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters, which builds friendships between volunteers and at-risk children; and the Pasadena Conservatory of Music to support the conservatory’s scholarship program. In other news, lodge members awarded scholarships to six high school seniors. Lodge members judged 22 applications and awarded scholarships worth $1,500, $1,000, and $500 to the first-, second-, and third-place male and female applicants. The top three young men were Thomas Han (first) of La Cañada High School, Daniel Morales (second) of Alhambra High School, and Preston Mills (third) of Marshall Fundamental High School. The top three young women were Ariel Wood (first), Taylor Lichfield (second), and Marilyn Travis (third), all of Marshall Fundamental High School.
In more news, the lodge held its annual Children’s Christmas Party. About 16 children from Hillsides, a home and treatment center for abused children, joined children and grandchildren of lodge members at the party. The children were entertained by musicians, had their faces painted, participated in a coloring contest, and visited Santa and his elf, who gave each child a gift. Following the party, lodge members, along with Santa, visited the Huntington Hospital’s pediatric ward, where they met with seven children in their rooms and held a concert and Christmas Party for about 12 children and adults. Santa again visited each child and gave each child a gift.
Largo, FL, Lodge members sent nearly $160,000 worth of manufacturers’ coupons to US troops and military families stationed in Germany.
Sebring, FL, Lodge Bingo Committee donated nearly $3,100 to the Family Safehouse, a shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Tifton, GA, Lodge members distrib- uted dictionaries to more than 730 third-grade students in the city.
Boise, ID, Lodge members attended a Court of Honor Ceremony for new Eagle Scouts Jason Diffendaffer,
members also participated in a Welcome Home Dinner for the unit.
Naugatuck, CT, Lodge members distributed dictionaries to 17 third- grade students at St. Francis–St. Hedwig School.
Cape Henlopen, DE, Lodge donated a $2,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to the Zwaanendael Club. The funds will support the club’s scholarship pro- gram and other charities and also help restore the club’s building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Deep Creek, FL, Lodge members distributed combination dictionary- thesauruses to more than 140 fifth- grade students at Deep Creek Elementary School.

Temecula Valley, CA, Lodge held a Scholarship Awards Dinner for six high school students and their families. Lodge members awarded $1,000 scholarships to Vista Murrieta High School student Roger-William Ibarra and Chaparral High School student Kelsey Smith, $750 scholarships to Murrieta Valley High School student Kathryn Clark and Chaparral High School student Kevin Friel, and $500 scholarships to Murrieta Valley High School student Amy Cohen and Great Oak High School student Ian Shaw.
