exalted ruler in 1996–1997, then further serving his lodge as lodge trustee twice, chairman of the PER Association, House Committee, Elks National Foundation, Drug Aware- ness, Veterans, and many other statutory committees, was selected as Officer of the Year in 1995–1996, Chairman of the Year in 1998–1999, and Elk of the Year in 1993–1994 as well as in 2003–2004, was granted honorary life mem- bership in 2005; and Whereas, He served the Texas Gulf Coast District by regularly attending interlodge meetings and serving as committee chairman of the Elks National Foundation, Americanism, vocational grants, statewide fund drive, also serving as president of the PER Association, alternate to the state major project, Texas Elks Children’s Services, Inc., interlodge chairman, and was elected as district vice president for 1998–1999, becoming district deputy in 1999– 2000; and Whereas, He served the Texas Elks State Association by regularly attending state conventions and conferences and as president of the state PER Association, state chairman of the Elks National Foundation, served on Americanism, New Lodge Development, Long Range Planning, Newslet- ter, and Membership Committees, was elected as state president-elect for 2003–2004, becoming Texas Elks State Association president in 2004–2005, then being appointed state Elks National Veterans Service Commission chair- man in 2008 to present and district leader in 2009 to present; and Whereas, He was appointed by State Sponsor Charles Williams to serve as special representative and advisor to three lodges; and Whereas, He has served his community in many capaci- ties both as a volunteer with service organizations such as Clear Lake Elks Lodge (exalted ruler), the Rotary club (member), Home Owners Association (president), Texas Mariners Cruising Association (commodore), City of Kemah Blessing of the Fleet (Elks Lodge chairman), and in elec- tive office as board president of Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District No. 12; and Whereas, He worked in the petrochemical industry for forty-two years, twenty-five years of which he owned a machine parts design business, retiring in 2005; and Whereas, He served in the US Air Force from June 1959 to June 1963 on active duty, and then served in the reserves, receiving an honorable discharge in 1965; and Whereas, He was deeply honored to receive the President’s National Call to Service Award, awarded by Barack Obama, the president of the United States of America in 2010; and Whereas, He has been married to his best friend, com- panion, and soulmate, wife, Helen, for thirty-five years; now therefore Be it resolved, That the officers and members of Clear Lake (Kemah), Texas, Lodge No. 2322 are privileged and honored to present their fellow member N. Wayne Christo- pher to the 2012 Grand Lodge Convention in Austin, Texas, for the office of Grand Tiler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America. Middlesex, New Jersey, Lodge Presents Richard Pachucki for Grand Inner Guard Whereas, The officers and members of Middlesex, New Jersey, Lodge No. 1488 recognize and do appreciate the accomplishments, leadership, and dedi- cated service

Pachucki to his lodge, the New Jersey State Elks Association, and the Benevo- lent and Protective Order of Elks; and


Whereas, He has been a dedicated member of the frater-


nal Order of Elks for thirty-three years, having been initi- ated in September of 1979; and Whereas, He was soon appointed as lodge esquire and served for three additional terms; and Whereas, He progressed through the chairs and was elected exalted ruler in 1985, was elected to honorary life membership on April 4, 1996, and was elected Elk of the Year in 1998; and Whereas, He was elected as trustee of the lodge and served for five years, two years as chairman, at which time the lodge made significant renovations to the lodge; and Whereas, He noticed that the New Jersey Elks did not have an exhibit depicting its major project and in 1985 put together a team to design and build one that is still in use today; and Whereas, He was appointed state chairman of the New Jersey Elks Youth Activities Committee and served for three years, organized the newly formed New Jersey Elks Youth Sports Tournament that provides a tournament op- portunity for high school students in golf, bowling, and tennis with winners earning scholarship awards; and Whereas, He was appointed district deputy for the West Central District of New Jersey in 1992 and subsequently was elected president of the New Jersey State Elks Associa- tion in 1994; and Whereas, He served on the Grand Lodge Lodge Activities/ State Associations Committee from 1998 to 2000, was ap- pointed Grand Lodge chairman of Lodge Activities from 2000 to 2002; and Whereas, He was one of the initiators of the Soccer Program for the Grand Lodge and served as Area 2 soccer director from 2001 to 2004, and after the Soccer Program was placed as a subdivision of the Grand Lodge Youth Activities Committee continued to organize the Elks Mid- Atlantic Soccer Shoot and continues today with seven states participating; and Whereas, He was happily married to his first wife, Linda, for twenty-nine years, and now to his current wife, Jean, also an Elk, has three children and two grandchildren; now therefore


Be it resolved, That the officers and members of Middlesex, New Jersey, Lodge No. 1488 are honored and privileged to present to the 2012 Grand Lodge Convention in Austin, Texas, the name of Richard Pachucki as a candidate for the office of Grand Inner Guard of the Benevolent and Protec- tive Order of Elks of the United States of America.
