Victaulic Commissions New Casting Plant in Mexico Victaulic公司在墨西哥建设新铸造厂

U.S., announced it has opened a new manufacturing facility with casting capabilities in Chihuahua, Mexico. Te site, one of the largest Victaulic facilities in the
world, will produce ductile iron castings and large-diameter pipe joining products up to 72 inches. Te company said the addition will broaden the scope of its metal casting offerings and manufacturing services, including the ability to produce castings up to 1,500 lbs. “Te opening of the new Chihuahua facility signifies the
growth of Victaulic in Mexico, Latin America and South America and will help us meet the strong demand for our products in the region,” said John Malloy, the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. Tis facility joins the Victaulic Queretaro branch, in-
creasing its capabilities for customer training and enhancing regional support. In addition to the metalcasting capabilities, the new 133,000-sq.-ft. facility includes machining and as- sembly capabilities, as well as local operations offices. Victaulic has manufacturing and distribution facili-
ties worldwide and employs more than 3,500 people. Te opening of the Chihuahua facility follows on the heels of the company’s recent commissioning of a facility in Dalian, China, and expansions at the Drezdenko, Poland, facility. ■

Zollern Completes Eurocast Takeover Zollern集团完全接手Eurocast公司
Te Zollern Group, Laucherthal, Germany, a conglomer- ate that manufactures sand castings and investment castings, among other products, is taking over a rival’s business. Zollern agreed with Aalberts Industries, Doorn, Nether-
lands, to acquire Eurocast B.V. for an unreported price and announced it will consolidate the investment casting opera- tion with its own activities in Soest, Germany. Eurocast pro- duces precision cast components for aerospace, medical and electronics customers. Zollern will take over the contracts and assets of Eurocast, and the business’s sales and customer ser- vice activities will be integrated into Zollern’s sales network. Zollern produces sand castings in steel and copper alloys,
investment castings in steel, aluminum and nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys, and forged discs and rings in cop- per alloys. Te group also produces drive system products (e.g. gears, winches and direct-drive motors), bearings and steel profiles.
“One of our main business fields is investment casting for
high-tech applications,” said Klaus F. Erkes, Zollern Group CEO. “Tis year, we will exceed the revenue threshold of [$134.6 million] in this field. Our plant in Soest specializes in high-strength aluminum investment casting and will be strategically expanded for the group.” ■
