Tony Coe @guestlist
What are your plans for after the tour? Writing the next album and touring Australia, America, the UK and Europe.
What’s the most reckless thing you’ve ever done? Well, the other day I got drunk and ripped a TV off the hotel wall, stole it and brought it to our tour bus.
Why did you cover a song by Akon last year? It was a big joke really; we thought it would be funny to do a Metal version of a Pop tune.
Is there anyone you’d be interested in covering in the future? Yeah, we’re thinking of doing a whole cover album of ‘80s rock songs.
What’s on your iPod right now? Oh f*ck... Probably ‘People =
If you were exiled to a desert island in the middle of nowhere, which two famous people would you take with you? Kate Beckinsale because she’s fit and Jesus because he could turn all the water into wine and we could have a good time.
If you were invisible for a day, what would you get up to? I’d spend the day in Kate Hud-

Finally, if you could fill a swimming pool with any- thing you liked, what would it be? Jelly. I bet everybody says that but I really want to know what it feels like to jump into a pool of jelly.

Known as the songbird of hardcore band Alexisonfire, in 2005 Dallas Green embarked upon his solo project under the pseudonym City and Colour. His own brand of acoustic rock has made him one of the greatest musical exports to come out of Canada and the songwriter is currently recording his third, highly anticipated album, Little Hell, on which he shuns the ever-recurring themes of love and heartbreak to explore tragedy, responsibility and self-reflection. More colourful than its predecessors, the record explores a plethora of new musical genres and unveils Green’s progres- sion to an up-beat, poppy style particularly present in ‘Fragile Bird’ and ‘Natural Disaster’. Little Hell flirts with Appalachian country riffs with tinges of folk, and Green makes Blues his own with his rich gospel tones. His lyrics are honest; they ask real questions, give uncomfortable answers and his voice is stripped back to the rawest of emotions. Green once said, “I don’t want make people dance, I wanna make them cry”. As an album that evokes a bit of both, Little Hell has elevated City and Colour from a one-trick pony to Jack of all trades.
