THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE

NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL

Does Notting Hill Carnival even need an introduction?! Don’t be the only one that didn’t go...

THEATRE @ THE SCOOP

4th August - 4th September. Nearest tube: London Bridge

CLUB vs CLUB

Every month TGN put our favourite London clubs head to head in a battle to see which ones come out on top. This month it’s Egg vs. Ministry of Sound

Award-winning theatre company Steam Industry returns to The Scoop at More London, located right next to London Bridge station. Running for a month from the 4th August, the open air sunken amphitheatre will be showing Around The World In 80 Days and The Mother and with a capacity of 800, the atmosphere is sure to be better than your living room.

THE COCKROACH

TOURS @ THE SCIENCE MUSEUM Ongoing. Nearest tube: South Kensington Well, this is novel. For their Climate Changing programme the Science Museum is offering visitors the chance to dress up as cockroaches to see how the world looks through the eyes of the planet’s most resilient (and revolting?!) creatures. Hosted by art group Superflex and running until December, this gets points for originality and - let’s face it - is probably better value than the majority of comedy events on this month.

FIDGET FEET

AERIAL @ NATIONAL THEATRE SQUARE 10th - 11th August. Nearest tube: Waterloo Irish contemporary circus troupe, Fidget Feet Aerial, take part in the National Theatre’s Watch This Space series with their show ‘Hang On’, mixing aerial dance, trapeze & live music. It’s not Cirque de Soleil but hey, you can’t have everything.

How would you know it wasn’t your fault?

EGG TDRINKS/PRICE EVENTS VIBE

race will rank up the thrill factor. For other drinks, expect to pay a lot for the limited selection on offer - up to £5 for a bottle of Magners and £2.50 for a bottle of water.

MINISTRY OF SOUND he cocktails are exciting; sipping them on the ter- DRINKS/PRICE EVENTS

With a varied mix of nights and 3 floors playing a huge range of different sounds, on Fridays and Saturdays the club showcases the best DJs on the House and D&B music scenes. Past acts include D&B legend Nicky Blackmarket, and the club plays host to sporadic live performances and bands.

With the relaxed decor and dress code, and an eclectic mix of people ranging from students to old- skool diehard ravers, the atmosphere is laid-back and unpretentious. No peacocks here - just people who come to daaaance.

BEST BITS Wicked DnB and House nights, chilled vibe, outdoor terrace.

VIBE

Ministry of Sound has a wider selection of alcoholic beverages at lower prices, with a vodka and coke pricing in at around £5. No contest really.

With some of the world’s highest profile DJs playing here including legends Pete Tong and Roger San- chez, Ministry of Sound earns its superclub status. It hosts urban nights Fridays and House on Saturdays and with the world-class acts and the best sound system around, every night is set to be a good one.

As expected, the atmosphere in one of the UK’s most popular clubs is immense. The club is glamor- ous but manages to retain its warehouse feel, while the famous ‘Baby Box’ room is like walking into a psychedelic disco. Like Egg, Ministry is a clubbing destination for hardcore party-goers who want to dance all night and live the The Ministry of Sound experience.

BEST BITS Super club, Best DJs in the world.
