Fall Youth Basketball Leagues
REGISTRATIONPROCEDURES
Carefully review the registration procedures for youth basketball leagues. To begin the registration process, payment and a signed waivermust be submitted with your registration form.
RETURNING PLAYERS/RESIDENT PLAYERS/NONRESIDENT PLAYERS
A letter and a basketball registration form aremailed the week of July 26 to players
who participated in the 2009/2010 season.
Mail-in, drop-off and online registration begins the week of July 26. Each season new
teams are formed. Returning players are not guaranteed the same teamfromseason
to season. To be eligible for the Early Registration Fee, registration formsmust be received by August 9.After this date, the regular registration fee will be charged. The deadline for all registrations is August 23.
Registration forms received afterMonday, August 23 will be placed on a wait list.
INFORMATIONFORALL BASKETBALLDIVISIONS
Each playermust wear the league uniform, which consists of a green and yellow shirt. School sites for practices are to be determined by the park district. Since not every District 58 school is available for practices, some teamsmay practice at a neighboring school rather than the school attended by teammembers.
TEAMASSIGNMENTNOTE
Teams created according to the following criteria: • School attended • Grade • Balance of gender • Roster size • Friendship request/Coach preference
In general, our goal is to keep players from the same school on the same team. Should enrollment numbers and rostermaximums not accommodate this practice, schools may be combined to formteams. Team maximums are based on enrollment numbers at the time of the registration deadline.

Boys and girls games are played on Saturdays between 8:00 amand 6:00 pmat the Recreation Center. Season ends with a tournament.
*Leaguesmay be co-ed depending on enrollment.
Get in the game this fall! Volunteer coaches introduce participants to the fundamentals of playing basketball through weekly practices and weekend games. The league begins with a coaches’ clinic emphasizing proper techniques, knowledge of the rules, team strategy, participation, proper code of conduct and fun.No kindergarten practice.
