CUSTOMERS AND TARGET GROUPS
1.9 GUESTS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY, DISABILITIES OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS GUESTS WITH LIMITED MOBILITY We have staterooms in different categories on every ship that are wheelchair accessible with grab rails in the bathrooms, lower sinks and toilets, shower seats, raised beds, adjustable hanging rods in wardrobes, tilting mirrors and extra wide doors for easy access. Also, many toilets in a variety of public areas are wheelchair accessible. If your customers do use a wheelchair, they must bring their own and it must be collapsible. On many ships we have dedicated wheelchair positions in the main theatres and where we don’t, wheelchair seating can be arranged. Our latest ships also have electrical hoists for access to the pools and hot tubs. And, if they feel like a flutter, lower gaming tables and slot machines are available in our onboard casinos. For our younger guests using wheelchairs, we have wheelchair ramps or lifts so that facilities in our Splash Academy and Teen Club Entourage are easily accessible. Please note NCL only accepts certain types of wheelchairs on board due to ship safety. Going on shore by tender boats or using the gangways for persons who are dependent on a wheelchair or scooter cannot be guaranteed at all times or can sometimes be impossible. For more information, please contact our reservations department.
VISUALLY AND HEARING IMPAIRED Many of our ships feature cabins that are equipped with light and vibrating alarms. Please ask our reservations team for an overview of these cabins. NCL welcomes service or guide dogs on board. In addition, an NCL crewmember will tour the ship with the guest on their first day on board to help them get their bearings. Many ships have Braille indicators in the lifts as well as stateroom numbers in Braille and closed captioning TV.
GUESTS USING OXYGEN Guests who need oxygen or require oxygen therapy are welcome on all NCL ships. Guests must supply their own oxygen. U.S. based ‘Special Needs at Sea‘ is the only company allowed to deliver and supply oxygen to NCL ships for use on board or on tours. Let us know at the time of booking that your customers will be bringing oxygen on board, then contact ‘Special Needs at Sea‘ in the U.S. at 001-954-585-0575 (check with your telephone provider for applicable rates for calls to the U.S.) to arrange delivery to the ship. Just a couple of points to remember: the largest tank size allowed is D, liquid oxygen is not permitted and the number of oxygen tanks per guest is limited by applicable laws and regulations.
MEDICAL SERVICE ON BOARD On board all NCL ships, there is a doctor and a nurse. Nearly all common medication is available on board and can be prescribed. Treatments are made in accordance with the usual fees charged. The medical equipment on board is limited and can only provide basic care. In case of serious illness, a return of the patients at their own expense may be necessary. Therefore, it is generally advisable to check the health insurance before starting the holiday. Please note that our ships do not have a dialysis centre nor dental treatment equipment.
MEDICINE There are fridges to store medicine in all our staterooms, except our Solo Studios (category T1).

week of their pregnancy. A medical certificate establishing
due date and fitness to travel is required prior to the cruise. Please be aware that NCL will not be liable if a guest is denied boarding at the port, nor will we be responsible or liable for any complications of pregnancy that occur during the cruise.
