“I had a brilliant week and made some great new friends. The highlight of the week was coming fourth in my showmanship class. I really enjoyed working with my calf and seeing the transformation that we all managed to do with the calves was really rewarding. I’m incredibly grateful to Holstein UK for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a fantastic team.”

Career Plans: Edward would like to study Agriculture at Reaseheath College and plans to work for my father's C and A Contractors business, alongside working on the home dairy farm. Edward also has an ambition to travel and work in Canada. Favourite British cow: Bilsrow Gibson Ada
Favourite international cow: KHW Regiment Apple Red Biggest HYB achievement: Winning champion calf and handler for the second year running at Derbyshire’s Club Calf Show.

Occupation: Currently working on the home farm of 270 British Friesians and Holsteins rearing all replacement heifers and relief milking.

Biggest HYB Achievement: Winning county showmanship qualifier four times.

TOM SMITH
Club: East Midlands Prefix: Bumblebeehall
Biggest HYB achievement: Winning the junior stock judging at the National Competitions Day 2009.
The trip followed a similar course as previous years, with tuition from experts on showmanship, washing, clipping, feeding, bedding, final presentation, stock judging and marketing. Prior to the competition the team thoroughly enjoyed the gastronomic
evening, as they enjoyed many wonderful foods and served fellow participants with a traditional selection of Pimms and Victoria Sponge. The team rounded off the week with a meal and celebratory drink with the Canadian team. Congratulations to the team
