Iwan Morgan carried on his winning form in the heifer championship to take top spot with Nobold Windbrook Joan. Calved 11 months she is still giving 38kg and is classified maximum score at VG89. She stood reserve interbreed heifer champion at the Royal Welsh Show and first prize two year-old at the Celtic Dairy Showcase, having been purchased privately from Mike Roberts.
Reserve champion heifer was Elwyn and Cheryl Thomas’ Normead Baxter Kansa, the second prize heifer in milk. She had recently stood interbreed heifer champion at The Dairy Show, having calved in May and was still giving 35kg a day. Winning the in-calf heifer class was Sterndale Dorcy S Ghost from M and C Davies. Born in October 2013, she is due to calve in December to Snowy. She is backed by 10

In the cow in-calf class Gatrog Montague Culture EX92 stood top for Elwyn and Cheryl Thomas. Carrying her fourth calf she is due in December to Monument Impression. She also stood first at The Dairy Show. Top of the line in the third calver class was the Jones family’s Feithy Bolton Glenys 10 EX93. Fresh in January, she was shown giving 40kg and is due to calve in January to Endure. She stood reserve champion at Llandyfaelog Show and is a maternal sister to Feithy Windbrook Glenys who stood honourable mention. Winning the exhibitor group of three was the Jones family’s group including the third prize heifer in milk Feithy Dark Lilac 220, the winning second calver Feithy Windbrook Glenys 11 and the
first prize third calver Feithy Bolton Glenys 10.
In the calf section Ifan Wilson
led Tregibby Windbrook Bloom to the championship position. This one is an April 2014-born heifer out of Drointon Seaver Bloom VG86, one of 10 VG or EX dams. She stood second at the Celtic Dairy Showcase and first at Llandyfaelog Show. Taking reserve spot was Richaven Doorman Adrienne from Amelia and Huw Picton- Davies with Hannah Bown on the halter. Born in February 2015, she is out of Richaven Goldwyn Adrienne EX96-4E who was All Britain mature cow 2013 and reserve All Britain third calver 2012. This heifer was purchased for 7000gns at the Richaven Elite Sale 2015. Clinching the showmanship title was Ifan Wilson having won the senior class, while standing reserve to him was second prize senior showman Hannah Bown.
Feithy Windbrook Glenys stood top of the second calver class before standing honourable mention.
Castellhyfryd Spirte Rosina stood second mature cow and reserve champion.
