OF NEW AIRCRAFT HANGARS SENDS OUT A POSITIVE MESSAGE TO THE GLOBAL BUSINESS JET MARKET


THE CREATION


Ports of Jersey plans to invest over £10m in what is one of its most significant airport landmark projects to date.


Planning approval has been given to create three new aircraft hangars on the western part of the Island’s runway to fulfil the increasing demand for hangarage space from both local and visiting aircraft owners. Each hangar measures some 21,500 square feet the hangars will be made by renowned Canadian manufacturing company Sprung and have been chosen specifically because they are able to withstand harsh weather and climate conditions. Because of their versatile structure, the hangars are designed to be easily relocatable and if required, reconfigurable.


There is already a strong foundation of private aircraft based in Jersey and the Island benefits from its strategic and geographical location within two of Europe’s busiest aviation traffic zones for corporate jet traffic, namely Paris and London.


It’s hoped that this significant investment by Ports of Jersey will send a positive message to the global business jet market of its increasing confidence in the corporate aviation industry.
