8:00am – Arrive at the office. Fill up the kettle ready for the guys to have nice brew when they get to work. Check my emails. Look at what cleans are scheduled in for the day and check there are no issues with the cleaners.
9:00am – Go through the new client enquiries that have come in overnight. These are all handled by our simple-to-use admin system which links directly from our website and telephony system. It automatically sorts and sends these enquiries directly to the franchisee.

10:00am – At this point I usually spend a few hours speaking to franchisees, offering support and coaching, and helping them deal with anything that comes up. I’m always available over the phone for members of our network to get in touch, however I like to make the effort to contact them too, from time to time. We’re like a big family at Homeclean.
1:00pm – I try and get out of the office for a walk along the canals in Manchester if the weather allows. Taking time out is really important, and the fresh air gives me a great opportunity to reflect on the business and how things are going. One of the main reasons I initially wanted to start a franchise was to improve my work-life balance, so giving myself time to do things I enjoy is a massive plus of running my own business.
2:00pm – I usually spend the rest of the workday networking with others in the industry. We’ve recently been working towards our membership of the British Franchise Association, amongst other bodies in the sector. I also use this time to support the guys in the office with anything and everything. I still like to get stuck into all aspects of running the Homeclean business and work closely with my team.
4:00pm – I usually head home (to a beautifully cleaned house – thanks to my own Homeclean cleaner!) to the family and start cooking dinner before putting my son to bed and settling down
p Work-life balance with family time
for a night in front of the TV! Running my Homeclean franchise has allowed me to reset my work-life balance and ensure that I make space for the things that are really important to me, such as family time and exercise. The fact that I have time for this, but also run a successful business is not something I thought was possible – but I was wrong! If you’d have told me back in 2017, when I was
buying my Homeclean franchise, that within two years I’d have made such a success of it and, moreover, that I would own the whole Homeclean brand, I’d have said you were dreaming! But here I am, and it’s all testament to the earning potential possible with Homeclean.
