"franchisees and their teams are at the heart of their local community as thought leaders and employers of choice"
Vision
But what does the company regard as the key ingredients of a franchise that provides quality care? Primarily, the Home Instead network is successful because everyone shares the same ethos, and the belief in its vision of ‘changing the face of ageing’ and improving the lives of our older generation. The company’s business model places franchisees and their teams at the heart of their local community as thought leaders and employers of choice. They regularly deliver free dementia cafés, workshops and events.
Safety Another key ingredient is safety. Home Instead’s proven business model and dedicated ongoing support for franchisees has kept offices updated and supported throughout the pandemic. Service has continued throughout the year, allowing elderly and vulnerable clients to remain living independently in their own homes, where they are safe and protected. Companionship-based care has also kept clients provided with much-needed company throughout periods where they may have been shielding or felt isolated. This year has seen an overwhelming increase in demand for home care services and companionship. With an ageing population, this growth is predicted to continue, making a Home Instead franchise a rewarding business opportunity.
Adaptability With the arrival of the virus, Home Instead rapidly formed a ‘COVID-19 Taskforce’, a team who quickly helped franchisees in handling and tackling the pandemic in the early months of the lockdown. It was subsequently shortlisted in the Home Care Heroes Awards 2020 in the Innovation category and the bfa’s Community Hero Award.
Appreciation Home Instead has over 65 ‘Outstanding’ ratings from inspections by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the care it provides: more than any other home care provider. The franchise has also received many awards
and accolades and has consistently achieved a five-star rating in its annual franchise satisfaction survey from WorkBuzz. Franchisees were asked to rate Home Instead on attributes such as the quality of its new franchisee induction training; the level and quality of ongoing support; their relationship with the franchisor; and whether they would
recommend the franchise to others. This year has also seen the franchise shortlisted
in the Laing Buisson awards as finalists in the Homecare, Public Private Partnership and Outstanding Response to Covid-19 categories. Cath Chalton, owner of Home Instead Wirral, was named Franchisee of the Year in the Encouraging Women into Franchising Awards (EWIF). Home Instead has many accolades including what is considered to be the pinnacle in franchising, the bfa HSBC Franchisor of the Year gold award 2020. They are the No.1 most recommended group in the Homecare 2020 awards by their clients. They are also proud to have been named the No. 1 UK franchise company for 2021, in the Franchise Top 100.
A recipe for success Home Instead is a management franchise, so potential franchisees don’t have to be experienced in care, but if you are a caring person with effective leadership and management skills, you can embrace its outstanding business model and make a real difference. This year, the company has welcomed 20 new
franchisees to its network. New owners have invested in a business they know has demonstrated success; and has displayed dedication to the care of its clients and caregivers throughout the ongoing pandemic and beyond. Home Instead has continued to host virtual discovery days for potential franchisees, allowing those who are interested in a business opportunity with the company to learn more about owning a franchise. Home Instead was set up in 2005 and has
territories available across the UK including a small number of resale opportunities due to retirement. These provide a new owner with the opportunity to buy an established business. If you’re interested in joining a progressive and
caring franchise, either with a new territory or through an office resale, please contact franchise development manager, Imogen Clarke via the contact details below.
