A recent report by Kings Fund Organisation identified how COVID 19 magnified a number of social care problems. Market fragility Care providers are going out of business or handing back contracts: “A survey of care homes by the National Care Association, which represents smaller and medium-sized homes, found average occupancy at 81 per cent compared to 92 per cent at the same time in 2019. It’s not clear when and to what extent demand will return, and how many providers might fail in the meantime.” Purity concludes: “In 20 years, Match Options has witnessed huge changes within the industry – one which for a long time has been volatile and ever-changing.
