Women in franchising
“I worked with Alan Smith at Cadbury
before he left to start a business coaching firm. We remained in contact and when he found out I was leaving, he recommended I join ActionCOACH too. He was already very successful and to see how well he was doing encouraged me to take the leap. I have to admit, I didn’t understand the benefits of franchising, but I quickly learnt it would be the best way for me to succeed.”

Yvonne rediscovered her passion for learning with ActionCOACH
W 26
hen Yvonne Webb realised the values of the organisation she worked at no longer matched her own, she thought it was time to find something new.
During her career, the opportunities to learn had diminished too and, after witnessing a former colleague leave to start his ActionCOACH business, she realised just how beneficial investing in a franchise really was.
Learning the ropes Yvonne didn’t take much persuading to launch her own Scottish office of the world’s number-one business coaching franchise. After going through the due diligence process to finalise her decision, in September 2019, she was ready to go to ActionCOACH University and begin her training. “Everyone told me the training would be full on, but I wasn’t quite prepared for the extent of the material included. In my previous career, I’d lost the desire and passion to learn – ActionCOACH made me feel energised and full of enthusiasm once again. Using this as a springboard, combined with the ongoing support I receive from the UK team, gave me the best chance to succeed. There really is no better environment to be in. “I knew the best way to market my
business was to join networking groups. I’m an active part of Business Woman Scotland - a group of female business owners who come together to share ideas, promote collaboration and celebrate success. I’ve spoken at several of the conferences and having this sounding board has been so valuable, especially during the first year of business.”
