In selecting one of its own drivers, and not a


trained actor, to appear in the advert, Wiltshire Farm Foods wanted to create a buzz for customers who would see Brett’s face on their television screens. This focus on community and the genuine relationships that are forged between drivers and customers is what franchising with Wiltshire Farm Foods is all apart – it’s so much more than a meal delivery service. Telling his customers about the advert has


made Brett something of a celebrity in the area with some of them even asking for his autograph. He says: “They’re excited to see me on the television, and I’ve told them all about the song, which I’ve been whistling to them. It’s surprised me how many people have to be involved in a process like this behind the scenes – it’s certainly been eye-opening.” The opportunity to take part in the advert


was one that Brett was eager to be involved with: “When the company put the call out for applications I thought I’d enter, as the role didn’t involve any speaking and I’m a good whistler! It’s been a great experience. We used a rain machine, so I got wet a few times. It didn’t take too many takes so I must be a natural – ‘EastEnders’ here I come!” The Loughborough branch is managed by Suzie


Leeson and Rob Stanton and Suzie is delighted that one of her drivers is starring on our screens for the foreseeable future: “This is the second year one of our drivers has


featured in the advert, which makes us very proud. Clearly the charisma of the north shines through on screen! As chance would have it, three of the drivers who have appeared in the adverts over the years have come from Melton Mowbray, so there must be something in the water…” Brett has been delivering regularly to his


customers for a few years now and knows how much they appreciate the service Wiltshire Farm Foods provides: “Some of them are quite blasé about Covid, saying they’ve lived through harder times during the war. Others are worried. They’re extremely grateful for the service we provide and we’ve received lots of hand-written thank you cards.” It’s not just meals that have been delivered to customers in recent months. and advent calendars have also been distributed and the company has recently launched its annual Christmas card competition.
