Volunteers play a vital role in many of our County departments. This year, they donated more than $2.5 million worth of volunteer hours!


One department that greatly benefits from volunteers is the Parks and Recreation Department. They remove invasive plant species, work as museum docents, build trails, provide Eagle Scout projects, assist with park events, tend gardens, spread mulch, paint the outbuildings at Suson Park and participate in the Trail Watch program.


2024 Total Volunteer Hours for Parks Volunteers = 72,217 In-Kind Value of Parks Volunteers = $2,296,500.60


Volunteers also play a vital role in the Justice Center. In 2024, the 5,484 hours worth of volunteer classes and interactions was valued at $210,024.
