$8 Million for MET Center Enhancements and Entrepreneurial Growth Initiatives

STL Partnership received nearly $8 million in funding from the State of Missouri’s ARPA funds, Saint Louis County Port Authority, and additional sources to make significant capital improvements to the MET Center. A key addition to the center will be a new workforce development program specializing in electric vehicle repair, further expanding its impact on the community.

For over two decades, the MET Center has been a cornerstone of education, training, employment and support services for unemployed and underemployed residents in the region. Conveniently located near public transportation, an early childcare center and the STL Partnership Wellston Business Incubator, the MET Center continues to serve as an accessible and vital resource for the community.

In addition to managing the MET Center, STL Partnership oversees four business incubators across Saint Louis County. STL Partnership secured $3.6 million in Congressionally Directed Funding for its Helix Business Incubator in Creve Coeur. With support from Saint Louis County Port Authority, STL Partnership also conducted a feasibility study to assess the needs of the West County Business Incubator.

In November, STL Partnership participated

in Startup Week, hosting open houses at its Lemay, Wellston, and West County Business Incubators. Visitors had the chance to tour available office spaces, network with site

administrators, STL Partnership staff, and fellow entrepreneurs and engage with current tenants of the incubators. They also learned more about resources available through Small Business Development Centers. As an added bonus, attendees were offered complimentary digital headshots.

STL Partnership’s continued efforts

to enhance its facilities and programs underscore its commitment to fostering economic growth and supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the region.
