Strengthening Community Engagement Through 500 Appointments
Saint Louis County Executive Sam Page reached a significant milestone in 2024, achieving 500 appointments to boards and commissions. This accomplishment underscores the Page administration’s commitment to ensuring robust civic engagement and effective governance. “When I took office in April 2019, dozens of our boards and commissions had vacancies, making it impossible for some to meet due to a lack of a quorum.” said Dr. Page.
“My office has worked diligently on these efforts, making it possible for us to average 100 appointments a year. It’s through our boards and
commissions that the voices of our residents are amplified, helping us shape policy and set priorities so that we know how to best use our resources.”

The County Executive is
responsible for appointments to 76
boards and commissions, covering a wide range
of community priorities—from
Aging Ahead to the Zoo-Museum District. These appointments ensure that Saint Louis County
continues to operate efficiently, fairly, and in close collaboration with its residents and stakeholders.
