Organizations Team Up To Clean Up Wellston
Wellston became a hub of activity on September 28 and October 3 for a transformative “Clean Up, Build Up” two- day event. This initiative united community members and representatives from prominent Saint Louis companies to breathe new life into the neighborhood. Together, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to improve the Wellston area through collective action and a shared vision for change.
The event saw volunteers tackling a variety
of projects, including County Executive Sam Page, from clearing brush and picking up trash to engaging in other beautification efforts. The turnout was remarkable, drawing participants from across the region. Companies like Ameren, Spire, Missouri American Water, and AT&T joined forces with a host of government and regional organizations to make a tangible difference in the community.
“Clean Up, Build Up” is part of an ambitious, multi-year collaboration between the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the St. Louis Regional Business Council (RBC). This partnership focuses on revitalizing some of the region’s most challenged neighborhoods. Their ongoing efforts aim to improve living conditions by removing debris, cleaning vacant lots, demolishing unsafe structures, installing lights, and enhancing security—complete with the distribution of Ring home security cameras to residents.
