$7.5 million Airport Road Improvements Finished
In August, Saint Louis County’s Department of Transportation and Public Works cut the ribbon on a $7.5 million improvement project on a 1.7 mile stretch of Airport Road, transforming it into a safer, more accessible, and economically vibrant corridor. The project focused on enhancing safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, with upgrades designed to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow. New features include updated pedestrian crossings, improved lighting, bike lanes, and redesigned intersections to promote safe navigation for all road users.
In addition to increasing safety, the project supports economic
development in the surrounding communities. By creating a more modern and accessible roadway, Airport Road is now better positioned to attract businesses, customers, and new investment. These improvements enhance the quality of life for residents and also helps drive growth and opportunity in the area.
