FY 2024 Budget The County Executive is
responsible for submitting a budget for County operations to the County Council. The County Council is responsible for passing a budget to be signed into ordinance by the County Executive.

Our budget office reports that because of a strong economy in Saint Louis County, our sales
tax numbers increased this year. At the end of 2023, the County began receiving revenue from voter-approved Prop M, a three

percent sales tax on recreational marijuana. In the first two months of sales, the County
received $471,937. The budget office projects this tax will
generate $4.2 million in revenue annually for the County.
