choice of transmitter power output levels ranging from 150W to 6kW. The analogue VX Series features an updated RF power chain which utilises a high voltage FET with improved analogue FM performance. The power chain has been mated with a dual core DSP for signal generation, and Nautel has adopted hot-swappable titanium- grade industrial power supplies. The company has also teamed up with audio processing manufacturer Orban to enable power savings for MW stations running MDCL.

Incorporated at no charge in all NX Series products, Nautel says that tests show broadcasters operating -6 AMC MDCL can save up to 70% in power costs over non-MDCL operation.

As the AMC algorithm depends on modulation density for power savings, audio processing becomes an important aspect of operation and Orban’s XPN-AM processor has proven a strong partner for Nautel’s NX Series in achieving maximum modulation density. 8.D70
