REFLEKTOR OFFERS ON-RAMP TO CLOUD Evertz

BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON

Refl ektor, a new SaaS media transcoding and distribution platform, is helping broadcasters align their operating spend with fl exible workfl ows in the cloud. Rajvir Singh, Technical Product Manager, Compression at Evertz, explained: “Refl ektor uses licensed microservices to normalise the signal types that best suit the needs of the end user or fi nal application. It can be hosted on-prem but also makes an ideal cloud solution for applications such as 4K fi eld contribution, remote production,

return feed monitoring, remote collaboration and cloud production.” Refl ektor supports secure and

reliable transport protocols (such as SRT and RIST) and codecs like JPEG-XS that are commonly used in remote contribution. The unit will transcode incoming formats to hand off NDI and/or route SRT/RIST streams for cloud applications. “We are enabling broadcasters to make the transition from capex broadcast hardware to innovative virtualised solutions,” Singh added.

Evertz has also unveiled a standalone RF fi bre transmitter platform at IBC, and is

AVIATOR ORCHESTRATOR TAKES OFF WITH AMAGI Imagine Communications BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON

Aviator Orchestrator, a new launchpad for content origination and delivery to broadcast and OTT endpoints, is the centrepiece of Imagine’s IBC presence. Introduced earlier this year,

Aviator Orchestrator unifi es on-prem and cloud multi-site workfl ows under a common deployment platform – enabling media companies to seamlessly control hybrid environments and optimise their resources across what they have on the ground and what they are doing in the cloud. Recent developments have

enabled Aviator to manage Amagi’s Cloudport cloud playout solution. Playlists can now be delivered to Cloudport for execution, and playlist updates can be made via the Aviator user interface providing one integrated solution that keeps all aspects of playout under the control of Imagine’s common user interface – regardless of whether on-prem or in the cloud. “If you are a regular broadcaster and you have an on-prem regular playout solution and you wish to launch a FAST channel leveraging Amagi’s solution, then using Aviator your starting points will be the same,” explained Glodina Lostanlen, Chief Process Offi cer,

A MAGNIT FOR VIEWING LG Electronics

An eye-catching multicam XR demo is unmissable if you head to Hall 3. Using the new Star Tracker Max, four RED cameras are being trained on LG’s new Magnit Micro LED displays where the virtual production demo includes full XR composites, raw camera views

and monitoring solutions for cloud-based workfl ows such as the cVIP multiviewer are also on show. 1.B79

Imagine. “This transformative, collaborative approach enables media companies to reduce training that would otherwise be needed for multiple UIs, mitigate operational risks and speed recovery from on-air issues.” Likewise, all cloud-based playout channels under the control of Aviator, including Cloudport, can be delivered to Amagi’s Thunderstorm and downlinked to on-prem systems for delivery to broadcast endpoints over the air, on satellite or cable. are also showing an AI-assisted Director preview so that the director gets a correct perspective from all camera views to make creative decisions on the fl y,” explained James Uren, Mo-sys Technical Director. “That’s what we’re doing at the LG stand so do come and enjoy it!” 3.C48
