26 DISCOVER THE GAMING AND ENTERTAINMENT OPPORTUNITY


The fi lm and TV sector has eyed up the gaming industry for some time, but historically it has been a tough nut to crack. Now, thanks to cutting-edge technology and changing audience behaviours, the two worlds are increasingly converging, as today’s sessions in the Showcase Theatre will explain. Speakers from Omdia, Ubisoft and


more will be exploring the exciting developments at the intersection of gaming and media, and debating what the future might hold. Sessions include a look at today’s top gaming trends with Liam Deane, Principal Analyst for Gaming Tech, Omdia at 11:00. This will explore where the best opportunities across the gaming sector for TV, fi lm and beyond lie. This is followed by a fi reside chat with Helene Juguet, Managing Director, Ubisoft Film & Television Paris, entitled ‘From Gaming to On- screen: The hiccups and highlights’. The next session is ‘Blurred lines: Gaming & fi lm tech fusion’. As gaming technology and real- time 3D tools help make fi lm production smoother, easier and faster, visual effects being used in popular modern video games are now catching the attention of fi lmmakers.


Gets hands-on with gaming tech and learn from the experts at IBC today


This session will look at how to master storytelling and create the perfect fusion of TV, fi lm and gaming through getting creative with tech.


Opportunities for in-game advertising will also be discussed with a look at how the industry’s key players are leveraging streaming services to reach gamers and promote their products, and how advertisers, brands and publishers are partnering with streamers and content creators to reach new demographics. This dedicated space of almost 500sqm is demonstrating the very latest in esports production workfl ows and technology via three distinct production set ups, a partner zone and a networking area. The zone is an interactive, immersive experience, using state- of-the-art racing simulators as the basis of the content generation, and offers the opportunity to meet esports experts from Unlocked.


INCLUSION, SUSTAINABILITY AND CULTURE TOP THE CHANGEMAKER AGENDA


The Changemaker Programme returns for its fi nal day today, with debate around inclusion, climate anxiety and work/life balance on the agenda.


Following a networking breakfast that puts the spotlight on allyship from 10:00-11:00, sessions begin with broadcast journalist Nadira Tudor speaking to Wincie Knight, SVP Global Inclusion, International Markets at Paramount Global, about how to keep the momentum going when it comes to inclusion. The conversation then widens out to the growing concern of climate anxiety. Katy Bolan,


Sustainability Lead, Google TV and April Sotomayer, Head of Industry Sustainability, albert, will ask how we can listen to audiences and future generations better and explore what we can do to make change. Today’s fi nal session will be ‘A Manifesto for Change: Designing our work/life differently’. Featuring Wesa Aapro, Creative Technologist and Futurist, YLE, and Amy Woltemath, Vice President, People Partnering & People Operations, Sky Deutschland, it will explore the changes we need to make,
