STREAMLINING THE NEWS WITH AI Convit
BY KEVIN EMMOTT
Designed to further streamline media and editorial workfl ows, Convit has introduced new generative AI features to its Newsmind Stories multiplatform planning and publishing system at IBC.
Aimed at embedding generative AI into routine broadcast workfl ows, the updates range from automated Twitter post creation to article summarisation and fact checking. Another
feature is the ability to generate moderation scripts for audio content.
The company says its implementations take care of both prompting and compiling necessary data context in the background; teams can use generative AI for day-to-day tasks without having to switch applications and without having to become prompt engineers. This means less time spent wrestling with complex tools and more time focused on what really matters – producing quality, factual and engaging content.

CALLER EDITING GETS ON THE LINE WITH VOXPRO Wheatstone BY KEVIN EMMOTT
Making its European debut at IBC, Wheatstone’s LXE AoIP console surface is now available with optional VoxPro onboard for a fully integrated mixing, routing and live editing experience.
Wheatstone says the integration of the VoxPro jog wheel and controller in-line with faders and other controls on the LXE surface makes real-time editing
8- and 16-bit colour, plus Smooth and Sharp dimming modes, with wireless control via integrated LumenRadio (wired DMX via XLR-5 adapter), and DMX-controllable fan modes: Full, Auto, Silent, Off. It has IP-X5 rating (water resistant), and easy PSU or battery mounting on the yoke.
Also new is the Q3 Color-LR, a 90W full-colour Fresnel in a compact housing. It can produce crisp shadows and clean barndoor cuts, with beam angles of 15°- 45º. Its IP-X5 rating and fl exible mounting options means it can be rigged in harsh environments. It otherwise has a similar range of features to the G3 Color. 12.F55
The LXE AoIP console surface is now available with optional VoxPro onboard
simple and forgoes the need for a separate controller.
In addition to easier access, the integration reduces workspace clutter and gives talent more
tools at their fi ngertips during editing and recording, including control for routing and salvos. The VoxPro audio recorder/editor can be purchased as a software
application with or without a standalone controller unit, or as part of the LXE console surface. The LXE is Wheatstone’s fl agship WheatNet IP audio networked console and has a modular control surface with programmable soft buttons and customisable touchscreens. Both VoxPro and LXE are part of the WheatNet IP Intelligent Network, an IP audio ecosystem of consoles, talent stations, I/O units, accessories, virtual tools and appliances. 8.C91
