NEW CART IS ON THE CASE Vocas BY DAVID FOX

CaseCart, as its name suggests, is both a case and a cart. It starts as a transportable hard case and turns into a production cart, offering ample storage space for a fully rigged camera set or a drone setup. It aims to streamline workfl ows,

by reducing time wasted on assembling and dismantling production carts and the hassle of extra transportation.

CaseCart can be customised to suit users’ needs, and easily transformed into a data handling cart, a drone cart, a power cart, a camera kit cart, a craft service cart, or anything else required for a production.

The cart comes with four 10in wheels that are easily detachable. The wheels then fi t snugly on the top shelf, eliminating the need for separate storage. Two wheels

53 ROBOTIC RISE FOR PTZ CAMERAS

Remote Camera Technology BY DAVID FOX

Transformative: The all-in-one Vocas CaseCart

offer complete 360º rotation with brakes, while the remaining two are straight. The system also comes with two handles. Further developments will include a top drawer, mast/pole for mounting monitors and camera plates, storage troughs, cable hooks and a corner plug compatible with both 28mm pins and baby pins. 12.D25

The new MC-1 motorised column is a versatile robotic support for PTZ cameras and can be used for many applications to provide an elevated view or with a PTZ teleprompter combination. The motion is smooth and suitable for on-air use.

Only one cable is required as it is powered by PoE and controlled over IP, which simplifi es installation and deployment. The extended height and quiet movement means it’s useful where noise would be a distraction, such as classical music or theatre performances and in broadcast studios. The MC-1 is controlled from the RCT CS-3 universal PTZ

control surface, the RCT FR-1 fl uid remote pan-bar system, or from an RCT desktop software application using a USB joystick. It supports the FreeD protocol for sending height data to a virtual reality production system. The height position of the MC-1 can be incorporated into PTZ camera shot presets to simplify operator workfl ow.

The unit can be installed upright or inverted. It has programmable pre-set positions with speed control, and an API for integration with third-party software applications. 11.D40
