2,304
The highest point of this year’s Le Tour route is 2,304m (672ft) on the Col de la Loze mountain pass in the Alps.
NEW IN THE ALPS
The upscale resort group Club Med this winter opened its most contemporary all-inclusive location in Tignes, in the heart of the French Alps. Designed as both a winter and summer destination, the motto here is to ‘enjoy a free-spirited vacation with peace of mind’. At 2,100m altitude, you are invited to become ‘one with the summit’, perfectly integrated into the environment, thanks to the work of architect Jean-Philippe Nuel who envisioned guests being gripped by emotion upon arriving, as in the opening shot of a film. The village looks onto a slope, ‘as onto an abstract painting that changes from white in winter to green in summer’. Nuel’s modern interiors reference the mountain, combining wood and stone.
