Made from wood, this clamp holds the ring vertically between two felt/rubber pads. the pads are tightened and released from around the ring by turning the wing nut on the side of the clamp

Remove wedge, the 2 halves are free to move from the pivoted point. Position ring vertically between the felt ends and gently tap the wedge up the opposite end - this tightens the felt ends securely either side of the ring. Remove the wedge to release.
