1 By hand mix/knead two even amounts of blue and white compound. a scale makes this a very precise process.
2 once you have mixed to a consistent colour (light blue) you have up to 4 minutes to create an impression. You can impress objects (fingerprints for example) into it or press one compound onto something to make an impression.
3 it then takes about 5 minutes for it to set to a firm yet flexible mould. 4 it sets to a slick finish that make releasing casts easy. 5 it is rated to produce at least 50 casts in resins, wax, clays and low melting point metals. 6 it also withstands up to 570ºF / 300ºc for short periods of time.
Prometheus Modelling Material
the prometheus Modelling Material is a heat softened moulding material which can be reused. this is perfect if you need to make lots of moulds but only need a few copies cast from each.
• does not stick to art clay, pMc, polymer and other common sculpting putties and is great for fingerprints as it picks up a lot of detail. • the modelling material should be placed into hot water above 80 ºc. after 3 minutes the piece will get translucent which means it is soft enough for pressing the design into • if it gets hard while you are working with it, simply place it back in the water to begin the process again • once happy, leave your mould to cool and harden completely • do not put this modelling material on your hotplate to dry your metal clay, as your mould will soften and loose its shape • We recommend air drying until the metal clay is dry enough to pop out of the mould
