Satire is the use of humour and exaggeration to expose weaknesses, mostly regarding topical issues or ideas.
Usually, whatever is being criticised is exaggerated or ridiculed to such an extreme that it is wildly obvious to the audience. Satire can be used in all literary forms, and it is common in television, film and advertising. The main types of satire include:
