1. (a) In James Joyce’s short story ‘Eveline’ (pages 249–251), Eveline struggles with a dilemma and Joyce succeeds in describing her state of mind. You have been asked to transform this story into a play. Write the soliloquy that you think would best capture Eveline’s feelings as she struggles with the dilemma of whether to stay or go, in the space provided on page 72 of your Portfolio.
(b) Practise performing your soliloquy. Consider: tone of voice movement facial expressions.
