Possessive adjectives (e.g. my, your, her, its, his) and possessive pronouns (e.g. theirs, mine, yours, his, hers) are both used to show possession or ownership of something.
Possessive adjectives are always followed by a noun.
My shoes. Your hair.
Possessive pronouns are not followed by a noun.
Yours are brighter. Hers are cleaner.
